The surgeon makes a surgical incision along the hairline, into the hairline to the far side of the ears, and down past the front of the ears. The incisions are done carefully so that the scars get hidden by the natural crease of the face or by your hair. Once the incision is made, the surgeon remains careful in separating the skin as well as the underlying tissue before repositioning the fat and firming the facial muscles. The skin is then lifted and sutured into place. The excess is removed and the face is strapped in bandages to prevent infection.
